TAS will no doubt get a separate release at some point, I'll wait for that. As nice as that set looks I really don't fancy forking out for TOS AGAIN!

The Star Trek movie blu-rays are on the whole shamefully crappy looking so unless this includes 100% new quality transfers I wouldn't even consider buying it.

Otherwise what a potentially great set, fair price as well. Shame it almost certainly includes the old movie transfers.

Sorry. As you can tell, excited this is coming to the UK. Do you reckon it will still be around at Christmas because that will be top of my list.

Out in the States early September. Doubt it will take long to reach these shores and not like they'll want to miss the Christmas window. October or November would be my guess.

It's out 5th September, same week as the US.

I'm only half awake still. Only reading the first half of topic titles is my norm before I've had my caffeine intake!

Good to see its getting a release outside the US but I already have everything bar TAS so will just wait for that to get its own release.

I really want this, but it's tainted due to lack of remastered version and director cuts of the other films.

I guess a lot of people are in the same boat. I take that everyone who remotely likes Trek already has the movies.

Had the fat box region 1 special edition DVDs of the movies for maybe a decade but I'm holding out for proper remastering jobs with all cuts before picking up the blu-rays.

Funny thing is I'm doing pretty much the same thing with another childhood SF favourite, the original Star Wars trilogy. In both cases no brand new top notch HD scan of my preferred cut = no DVD to blu-ray upgrade ever. Balls in your court Paramount (and indeed Disney)

As others have said, I'll pick up the Animated series if/when it gets a seperate release.
I already have the other contents of the set (minus Khan Directors, which I aim to pick up soon).

I've yet to pick up Khan - DC and I do want to have TAS and that new documentary "Star Trek: Journey To The Silver Screen"
I also like the idea of having all of the adventures of the original crew in one set.

I don't particularly like the artwork on this new set and I have all of the other content, so the question I keep asking myself - is it worth £120 ?

I've yet to decide.

On the other hand if they had had the foresight to include the six movies with brand new 4K transfers, the DC's of TMP, TWOK & TUC and the content from "The Roddenberry Vault" in this set it would have been the ultimate 50th Anniversary set and a no brainer.

Might consider a standalone release of the animated series.

I already own the TOS and TNG box sets and am likely to purchase the movies box set when price drops later on this year so not worth the effort though.

If only studios will spend this amount of energy and time on stuff that has not been released in the past.

Can't imagine the movie set getting much lower than it already has at £20 which is just £2 per film not counting the bonus discs.
