Hi guys. I have been researching Blu Ray and HD DVD for some time now and I started to think Blu Ray was the best. I was quite surprised today when I received a Blu Ray player. It is the Sony BDP S300. It was supposedly on sale for $299.99 and came with Spider-Man 3. However, this is not the player I was looking at before Christmas. I was looking at the more expensive Panasonic DMP BD30 priced at $499.99. I have heard numerous problems about the Sony I received today such as SLOW load times. Will the latest firmware fix this? I am planning on using this on my 32" LCD HDTV at 720p. I don't quite remember the exact resolution of the TV off the top of my head, but it is not quite 1080p. I am currently using an HDMI upconverting DVD player that looks great. I guess my question to you guys is if I should keep the player I received and use the extra $200 I'm not using towards the Panasonic for more movies. Will a Blu Ray player even give me that big of difference over my upconverting DVD player? Keep the Sony, spend the extra $200, or don't go Blu Ray at all?
