You’re better off sticking with the manga. Unless you’re Naoki Urasawa (i.e. Monster), a perfect manga to anime adaptation is just never going to happen.

The Second half of Death Note, S2 of Quintuplets, and S2 of Promised Neverland all stick out to me simply because they condensed way too much of the manga into way too few episodes.

How different was Shugo Chara from the manga?

I've not read the manga yet (have just the first and last volume), but basically, once "S3" happened as it caught up to the manga, it's all filler. Just ugh at what happened to that series.

Each 24-25 minute episode consists of a series of variety show style shorts (including Shugo Chara! Pucchi Puchi / しゅごキャラ! ぷっちぷち) totaling approx. 9-10 minutes, followed by the main 11-12 minute animation titled Shugo Chara!!! Dokki Doki / しゅごキャラ!!! どっきどき which is the actual continuation of season 2 and comes with its own opening animation. The remaining time is occupied by live action padding between each section and capped off with the opening/ending themes at the beginning and end of the episode.

I remember watching like the first 50 episodes of Shugo Chara online years ago. I think it did take that long for her to get to use her fourth card form.

Trigun and with yu yu hakusho do everything from the manga and do something to improve the manga’s ending. also wish the inuyasha anime was closer to the manga in tone and in art.

I remember Shugo Chara was pretty big around 2009/2010. I knew a lot of people online who were into it but it died off hard after that point. I never hear it get mentioned anymore, not until now.

Well, the manga did end in 2010, and then again, Party! was very poorly received. I got into the series 9 years ago when I was in my senior year of high school.

Oh how I wish the anime would get licensed, it's among my top 10 most wanted licenses and has remained that way for a long time. Me if the Shugo Chara! anime got licensed:

Zetman because the anime sucks ass. The manga is a great homage to the Guyver franchise, and yet the anime did a poor job on adapting the series. It's been a decade since the anime aired, and I doubt anyone will touch it again soon.

The Promised Neverland season 2. They really screwed up while animating this one, especially with the literal PowerPoint ending.

Berserk has to be number one. Three anime adaptations and each is worse than the previous.

They have done three versions of Berserk, wow I can't think of another manga that has had three chances...even if they screwed it up.

I wouldn't consider the 2016 TV series a third adaptation, since it was meant as a sequel to the Golden Age movie trilogy and even brought back its Japanese voice actors and music composer. An actual third adaptation would have to reboot the whole thing from scratch yet again.
