Hi guys,
Just had confirmation from Disney AU that they have ordered the updated Little Mermaid Blu-ray master and will be rolling the updated master into future retail copies and instituting a replacement program for Australians. I am seeking further information (also regarding the 3D version) and will make that known when it comes through. For now please don't hassle Disney AU - they haven't ironed out the details or made this official, so just hang on to your hats, but just know they are doing the right thing and working diligently on the issue. There are two errors, the first is during Part of Your World, the second is less obvious and involves the transition to the scene with Scuttles. edit: I forgot to say thanks!! I don't think I would've noticed it, as I've only seen the film once before. But thanks for the heads up! Haven't watched the disc yet, and it paid to buy local this time I suppose, as it'd be easier to get it replaced than dealing with an overseas branch of Disney.

It must've all happened when they were doing the 3D conversion. So annoyed that these mistakes were made... But good to hear they may fix it. I emailed them a few weeks ago and they basically said tough titties lol
The only things that really annoyed me was the titles timing being off by nearly 20 seconds and the shots that were out of sequence... her mouth is moving even though they stuck it at a part where she was in between singing lol idiots :P Last edited by fighter4luv; 10-24-2013 at 09:53 AM. |

Whilst there is a little confusion from Disney Australia as to ETA on the replacement discs, I'd encourage affected consumers to call Disney on 1800 064 640 to register their interest.

Just in case anyone still hasn't applied for their disc, I contact them on Tuesday and received it today. 2D only unfortunately. Hopefully we'll see a remastered 3D copy coming through soon.
