Why Does Hulu Not Have Certain TV Eps?

I was browsing through and noticed that "I Love Lucy" is missing some eps., "Survivor" is missing some eps...

I don't know for how many others, but those shows are what I've noticed. Why are certain ones missing from the seasons available?

I don't know the answer to that but it's probably the same reason that CBS All Access has four seasons of Caroline in the City but only about 66% of all episodes, for no apparent reason.

I know when I binge watched Beverly Hills 90210 last year many episodes were missing cause of the music being played. Not sure about the case here but maybe it has something to do with copyright.

I've noticed it on a lot of CBS owned series from the 50's-90's. Green Acres, Brady Bunch and Melrose Place to name a few others, which is frustrating. Other series from the same boat also only have the first couple of seasons and non of the later years like "Happy Days"....

I actually ended up buying DVD Complete Series of I Love Lucy, 90210 and Brady Bunch for these reasons...

Contracts with the content owners. The contracts can be for individual seasons or for the entire run. Contract expires - season(s) disappear. Contract is renewed - season(s) reappear. . . but not necessarily on the same service. Today it's all about bidding for content to make sure said content gets the most amount of money for owners. Not like it was a few years ago when the Netflix "salesman" made an appointment with the Disney VP in charge of content and sat down and arrived at a mutually beneficial contract.

On Hulu is A&E's THE GLADES which when Hulu first got it was Season 1 & 2. Now there is only Season 2
