A24 (via Lionsgate) will be releasing The Blackcoat's Daughter (aka February) on May 30th.

It came out Friday, at least in NYC. It's done the film festival circuit for like a year or two now I believe.

Incredibly well done atmospheric horror film. Kiernan Shipka is amazing in it too.

Liked this film, and Perkins' second film I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE (which is on Netflix), very much.

The narratives are purposefully thin, but they are drenched in atmosphere and mood.

Man, the score in this was creepy as hell. I know some people didn't care for the ending, but I enjoyed it.

Watched this last night and it's both creepy and moody, well worth a look. It's also the kind of movie you're trying to piece together and figure out before you get to the end (I figured it out about 15-20 minutes before the end, but it'll sure keep you guessing). I was surprised to read the director, Oz Perkins, is the son of actor Anthony Perkins.

It's currently streaming for free if you're an Amazon Prime member.

Watched it tonight. Despite its predictability, I thought it was a good, engrossing thriller.

Major kudos for atmospheric horror over jump scaring horror.

I loved this so much. Watched it on amazon last week, and I agree that it's good over despite being predictable. The twist doesn't even really try to surprise you, imo. The atmosphere and score are what won me over.

I'm probably watching it again tomorrow when it's released.
