Paramount Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) Never in 3D - Conversion Cancelled

Moderator note: In the end, Paramount did not have Terminator: Dark Fate converted to 3D. The theatrical release was 2D and the home releases will also be 2D.

Original post:

RealD confirms at twitter, that Terminator 6 3D will be released in 3D.

https://twitter.com/RealD_FR/status/1026413139590557696

With James Cameron as Producer we have good chances for a native 3D production (like in Alita: Battle Angle)

But will it get a Blu-ray 3D? That’s the big question for me.

They're already shooting so perhaps someone can find behind the scenes shots of the cameras they're using to see if it's native or not.

That is the big question. It's a shame we can't trust really Paramount with these things any more...

According to Wikipedia 20th Century Fox have international distribution while Paramount take domestic. Unfortunately, Fox haven't been very reliable when it comes to Blu-ray 3D either...

Exactly, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place with those two studios when it comes to 3D blu rays.

Considering how much James Cameron had our best interests at heart regarding the 3D domestic release of TERMINATOR 2 I can't summon any enthusiasm.

Is this really going to be called Terminator 6? I thought James Cameron disavowed all Terminator movies after 2 and this one was going to be a direct sequel to the second movie?

UPDATE:

It looks like a mistake has been made and RealD France has removed their original tweet regarding a 3D release of Terminator (2019). This isn’t to say that the movie is not getting a 3D release but the specific details are not ready to be disclosed. We will keep you updated on more details as they come in. James Cameron Executive Producing the movie kind of seals the deal of 3D regardless.

I'm thinking if they're using Linda Hamilton and Arnold it will probably be called Terminator: Geriatric Day

Or maybe, Senior Terminator (pronounced Senor instead for a homonym).
