United Kingdom Dirty Dancing: Keepsake Edition

Pre-order up on Play.com with a release date of October 25th.

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/1...n/Product.html

Will be a Blu-ray/DVD combi pack, and I wonder if this will have a new transfer. I heard the current release has a god-awful one.

I see this 2blu+1DVD set is only £8 at Amazon and Play, looks good;

Is the film any use though? This is one I've never got around to seeing, always seems to be talked about though.

It's definitely a classic, but that doesn't mean everyone likes it (I wasn't too impressed). It's definitely more a chick-flick, maybe catch it on TV or borrow off a friend first.

Was on TV the other day. :P

Price has gone back up to £11.99 on Play, but it's still £7.99 on Amazon, which is a steal for what you're getting - ordered!

Yeah I noticed play had upped the price too. I want to give this film a go, and this will be the best way to do that, so I've ordered it.

If I don't like it then I'll just give it to my sister;
"I've seen the movie so many times, I could act it out"

I bought this as one of the smaller Christmas gifts for my girlfriend on a Monday madness price of £7.99 from Play.Com last week.
Not a great fan of the movie myself, but for £7.99 it's a bargain price for what looks like a great blu-ray set.

This timeless, Oscar winning classic is a phenomenally popular coming-of-age tale, beloved by generations. Teenager Baby (Jennifer Grey), goes with her family on vacation to Kellerman’s holiday resort in the Catskill Mountains. Things are pretty tame until she meets Johnny (Patrick Swayze), a dance teacher at the resort who mesmerises Baby with his dance moves, his passion and his misunderstood ‘bad boy’ image. During the summer of 1963, Johnny teaches Baby how to dance. And, more importantly, how to love.

Apparantly they filmed scenes with Jennifer Grey topless dancing but cut them from the film.

I shall not buy until these scenes are made available!

Well, the new edition does list the inclusion of deleted and alternate scenes... hope that floats your boat.

It wont be on there, they've had deleted and alternate scenes before and it's mostly stuff from the TV version of the movie.

It's up there with the Annie Wilkes lawnmower killing scene from Misery. Filmed but never to be released lol.

I saw on Melon Farmers last week that someone has made porn versions of both Dirty Dancing and Saturday Night Fever. However for UK release the distributor has pre cut to soft core versions so around 15 to 20 minutes of footage has been removed. I am sure in that they may still have left "Baby" topless.
