FYI,

The best deal seems to be on Vudu. You'll get DMA for all but New Hope, but they are also showing UV flag for it too.
I figure if you're going to shell out cash for it, may as well go for the place where your movies and TV will congregate the most. |

I picked it up at Vudu since the price was right and includes all the disney points. Pretty much enough to get a free blu-ray. Or close at any rate.
My big savings banner at Google consisted of 75% off a TV episode. Not a series. Not a season. One episode. |

hm, i don't think i got any dmr points for buying on vudu :\ had a 30% coupon or whatever it was around black friday..i surprisingly do have the 50% any movie offer on google play, but..no point in buying it twice, right? hahah. i just wish there an easier way to keep track of what digital things you own where..

I went ahead and got it on Amazon @ 64.99 and linked my DMA account to Amazon so they all transferred to VUDU. I've been on the fence for a while.
Edit: ANH did not transfer...I forgot about that one not being DMA. Last edited by AeroK; 12-31-2016 at 01:58 PM. |

Lucasfilm owns them and Disney owns Lucasfilm. Disney can release them as long as Lucasfilm provides them the distribution rights. Lucasfilm can also work with Fox on clearing any legal hurdles with A New Hope.
The digital collection is distributed by Lucasfilm through Disney and a deal was made with Fox to include A New Hope in this collection. Eps I-III & V-VI are silently distributed by Disney for Lucasfilm which is why they are Disney Movies Anywhere enabled. Episode IV is still distributed by Fox for Lucasfilm and is UV enabled. Episodes VII-VIIII, Rogue One, and additional spin-offs are also silently distributed by Disney for Lucasfilm. |

Actually, I posted this this the general 50% off GP thread, but I think I should have posted it here instead:
Is this still good, and at what point does the 50% off show up? I'm on the edge about pulling the trigger on the Star Wars bundle, but am leaning more towards getting it since today might be the last day at the sale price. Before, when I was browsing the collection, it showed as $39.99 (half off the $79.99 price) right on the product page. Now when I refresh the page it just shows up as $79.99, but it says "You can apply your movie reward at checkout." I can't remember if it said that before and still showed the $39.99 price, or if they changed things and now it shows the regular sale price on the page and with the disclaimer that now you have to wait until checkout before seeing the 50% discount. Or, even worse, that maybe they pulled the SW bundle from eligibility altogether. I click on the "$79.99 Buy HD" button and it takes me to another pop up that asks "HD or SD" and just gives me only the option of "$79.99 HD." I'm a little afraid to click on that button as I don't know if I click on that button if I'm actually submitting the order, or if there is another check out screen. I'm leaning towards buying at $39.99 (and then buying ANH separately on iTunes), but I definitely don't want it at GP at the $79.99 price (if I were going to pay $70-$80, I'd just buy it directly at iTunes, my main digital copy service). Does anyone know if the SW bundle is still eligible for the 50% discount (it used to show $39.99 on the product page before, even earlier today, so I'm a little concerned that it's showing $79.99 now), or it that has changed? And do you now have to wait until checkout before seeing the 50% discount applied? Also, if I click on this "$79.99 HD" button in the pop up box, will it take me to a final checkout screen where I submit my order, or is this the order submission? |

I ended up calling GP CS and it finally showed up at the reduced 50% off price at the final checkout pop up where it asks for method of payment. The odd thing is that it used to show the 50% off reduced price on the Movie entry page on GP the entire time up until the evening I was going to purchase, even earlier that same morning it was showing the reduced price. I'm not sure what happened there, and why it stopped showing the reduced price, but in the end it was still the reduced 50% off $39.99 price at the end, which is I guess what matters. |
