Default Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (GOTY)

Hey, I am thinking of picking up this game, but I have never played it. Does anyone have any input? Thanks.

If you are into RPGs in any way, this is a definite must buy. The game is incredible, and you could spend almost 100 hours exploring all the side quests and nooks and crannies. Very addicting game, and well worth it!

I agree with SJ001, this is a great RPG. Very addicting. You might want to work out a deal with your wife or girlfriend concerning the time you will put into it. My wife got really frustrated- I played the game way too much.

my favorite game... you have to invest a lot of time... it's very involving... you'll really feel like you own your character...

Should have a thread somewhere, oh well.

In any case, I like it on the PC. Not as much as I liked Morrowind though, was largely disappointed in it [still purchased it twice again on the PS3 though].

Cool

I'm not too big into RPGs, but I love this game. You have the scale of GTA with a Medieval setting wrapped up in first person. Make sure you get the game of the year edition so you get the newest expansion.

I have it on the X-box 360 (yeah I know, it's not blu) I loved the game, but there were a lot of bugs in the game, couldn't finish some of the side quests and that bugged me. There is a fix for some of the bugs, but they fixed mostly cheats. I still had a hard time finishing the quests. Missing people that were required to complete missions and such. So hopefully you get a version without these problems. I'd like to try this for the computer I bet there are a lot of modifications that can be done to make your character look and feel like you want it..

Am I the only person who doesnt feel like playing this game?

I just bought it last month, Game of the year edition, I managed to do that cave quest for the lady at the tavern/inn and havent touched it since, does the game get better? Its probably because Im getting old and dont feel like running through another rpg, I just find it boring...

Be sure to get the Game of the Year edition, it has the Shivering Isles expansion. Otherwise, you will have to get it separately for $30. It's a pretty cool expansion pack.

I would HIGHLY reccommend this game. I have it for the PC and its easily the most played game I have this year. Theres so much to do and you will get the most out of this. You need to go buy it. Its worthy of all the praise it gets

Default Best Ps3 Game So Far!!

This is hands-down the best PS3 game out there!!

From the enormous size of the world (when you see a dot on the horizon that is a tree, you can run right up to it..may take 20 minutes and the bark of the tree will be the entire width of your screen!!), to the interaction with characters (100's of characters throughout the world, none of which are the same or interact with you the same), to the gameplay (do you want to be a thief and sneak into peoples homes and steal? or be an assassin and hunt people down?). so much freedom in this game. Sure, Drake's and COD4 have better graphics, but the missions in those games are very closed (ie. you can only travel in one direction, only interact w/ a fixed group of people, etc...oblivion is WIDE OPEN...you create your experience!

I just bought this today. Played for about 4 hours and am completely in love with it. As for the girlfriend thing, she's been asleep beside me the whole time.

Exactly. I manage to squeeze in 2 games a day of NHL 08 Online, test a few demos, play some horror game, all on PS3, I just dont have the time for PC hardcore gaming like I used to.
