Default Queen of Versailles Problem

I had a rather odd experience with this blu-ray.

It seemed to load fine, the trailers played with no problem, but the menu didn't have any options. None listed, none accessible.

Strange, the menu background played just fine -- music ditto -- but the white horizontal bar along the bottom of the frame was just...white.

"Play Movie" was all I needed. But there were simply no options.

I have one of the large style PS3s. Both before and after upgrading the firmware (via the Black Ops 2 disc) I had the same problem. My screen was not zoomed. I was unable to activate the disc by pressing the "Play" button or "Select" button on my remote. Playing with these (and various other buttons) only generated the helpful, "You cannot do that with this disc at this time" message.

I took the disc back to my local video retailer, and the gentleman was able to use his menu no problem -- all options were there as plain as day. He did note that the loading seemed to take a remarkably long time.

Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
