Going to get this one for sure. Although I wasn't a fan of the ending, everything leading up to it was superb. One of the best surprises at the cinema for me so far this year and I was really surprised it didn't get more press etc.

They filmed parts of this right outside where I work and I could see Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine out of the window

The camera on my old Nexus wasn't good enough, and I didn't have my proper camera, otherwise I would've got some better pictures

I watched this last night, great movie really enjoyed it. tense, well acted and stunning visuals. I did question a few silly moments but they were few and far between.

As above, the principal cast shot by my work place for at least a day on this and I had my eyes peeled to see if I could recognise anywhere but I couldn't! mattl149 perhaps you recognised any sections as I think you might work in Birmingham too? (apologies if not!)

Anyway, good movie, well worth checking out and quite different to a lot of zombie/ virus type movies.

I work on Colmore Row next to Eden Place. I was going to get this yesterday, but I'll pick it up next week when it's in HMVs 2 for £25 offer

I will see what I can recognise as they shot on Waterloo Street as well and I got some photos of the set, but sadly none of the cast

Cool, yeah post back when you've watched to let me know if you recognised any scenes. I work in Alpha Tower so not nearly as close to where the filming took place as you were. Will definitely be interested to learn for sure which scenes were shot in Birmingham.

Yeah agreed, I couldn't believe how low the budget was. Those deserted cityscapes look fantastic. Immense production value on such a miniscule budget.

Can anyone tell me what special features are on this?
And how it differs from the theatrical cut? (Based on the cover saying 'unseen footage')

I saw this in the cinema and I honestly thought it was joint best film of the year along with Arrival.

I think the unseen footage might be referring to the extras although someone please correct me on that. There is a 20 minute making of and I think an 8 minute B roll and cast interviews. That's all I can remember at the mo!

Yes you are correct levcore, i have this on blu ray and checked the special features and it has 20 minutes making of, interviews with the cast and B roll footage, there is not unseen version of the film, just the one shown at the cinema, all the unseen stuff is on the special features

I enjoyed this even though it felt like a lot of it was lifted from 'The Last of Us'.

I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive from Amazon UK. I absolutely loved the book and have been looking forward to this for a while.

Glad to see it's confirmed to be Region Free as my brother wants to borrow my copy after I'm done watching it and he doesn't have a Region Free player.

Yeah WB is always a safe bet for region free status.

Just finished watching it. After having watched Train To Busan last night and knowing how fantastic the novel for this was, I was a little disappointed with the film version. They changed so much, especially with the ending (which is ironic because the script was written by the author of the novel) The ending played out much better in the novel and definitely did not have the same impact. The girl who played Melanie was great though. I think she's going to be an actress to look out for as she gets older.
