Default Quick 1080p question

Bought a new Sony Bravia the other day (Full HD, 1080p, KDL 40w2000). I wanted to check out a 1080p blu ray so delved into my collection and checked the specs on the reserve of the boxes and noticed Blood Diamond is shown in Full 1080p... I use a PS3 and when i started the blu ray, the tv adjusted itself, but 1080i came up on the screen. Should it not have displayed 1080p??? I checked a few other things - FIFA 08 plays in 720p and the tv adjusted correctly to that resolution, but Virtua Tennis which is 1080p adjusted to 1080i!! Am i doing something wrong?!

HDMI is fine.

More than likely you have a setting on the PS3 that is incorrect.

Goto System>Display Settings and see what's selected. Should be 1080p. If not, switch it manually to 1080p and see what happens.

No problemo.

I know it sucks when you are sitting there with your gear, knowing that it should be doing what it's supposed to, but for some reason, it's not.

Been through it a million times myself.

Enjoy your new toy.
