We recently took advantage of a ridiculously good Black Friday sale on a 40" LG LCD panel for the bedroom, and while we're ecstatic about its picture quality (night and day difference, for the most part, over our aging main 50" Sony SXRD display in the home theater/living room) even without calibrating it, I was curious as to why the set defaults to "Vivid" picture mode on all inputs even after "Home" use mode is selected upon startup...
Seems to me "Vivid" would be the default if you were to select "Retail/Store" upon startup, and "Standard" should be used if "Home" is selected... Is this normal for LG TVs? |
