Lightbulb BUTTKICKER GAMER - Anybody use this for PS3?

Seems like a great idea, anybody out there have this and use it with a PS3?

Quote:
Feel the low end without making the room loud.

Turn down or turn off your subwoofer and still feel all the bass you want. Ideal for apartment or dormitory use.

Experience powerful bass even while using headphones.

The couch version sounds great. The prices jumps a lot for that version though.

For the home theater version it's about $400

Gamer version ranges from $60 to $100 ish depending where you look.

these are interesting.. never heard of them.. I do have a decent surround sound system.. with Bose 5.1 and base will / can shake all room, but sound would have to be at a decent volume.. these would allow me to keep sound low and still get at least the vibrations.. I wonder how well they work... Would have to get home theater version as well.. would want to use it for both gaming and movies..

found them on amazon...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._cp_ob_title_0

that is total theater setup for 400.00

http://www.amazon.com/review/product...owViewpoints=1

That is the gamer setup for 100.00

I have the buttkicker LFE model, connected to my home theater. Its pretty sweet. I have a 400W powered JBL 12" sub woofer with its own amp, and the rumbles from explosions were terrific with it. But once I added the buttkicker it enhanced the effect 100x more!!!

It also works with your games great too if your system is hooked up through your receiver. A buddy of mine picked up the gamer model and its a little weak. It's made more to hook up to a desk chair. But if that's what your aiming to do then by all means go for it. But the home theater one is superb for movies and games.

This is nice to hear from someone who actually has and is using the unit. I have my PS3 going through my receiver and use my PS3 for all movies and game playing.. I have a connected decent surround sound system like you a subwoofer with its own amp. Did you get the kit? If you did not get the kit, what type of amplifier do you use for this unit? Did you also get the wireless transceiver?

It looks like the home theater kit is 400 shipped, but they also sell a wireless kit which you can add to your home theater receiver and than on your amp before you unit so you do not have to run additional cables throughout the room.. I would like to do that as well.. since the wireless receiver is before the amp I would think it would not ruin the power to the LFE kit..

yes I got the kit. I didn't do the wireless kit though. I heard it was a little buggy. So I have the wires to deal with..... I has it inder a large lazyboy chair for a while, but I felt selfish using it while everyone else sat there wondering, so I bought and extra one to connect to my couch.

I say get it.... it's sweet. And will be a conversation starter for sure. People who come over to watch a movie or even play again will be impressed. when I got it I never told anyone, so the shock value was great.

Its basically adding a candy topping to your already delicious ice cream....

We have 3 Buttkicker LFEs connected under our 3 Berkline theater recliners in our home theater. They are driven by the 1,100 watt Bukkicker amplifier.
We have a 7.1 Klipsch speaker system, but the Buttkickers added a whole new dimeinsion to our setup.
The system works for both the theater and PS3.
Total cost was about $900. There are some good deals on the internet.
I highly recommend The Buttkickers. Go to the web site for more info.

Where did you get your deals? The amp that comes with the system is a 100 watt amp I believe... so what or where would you get the other amp?

Never mind, the amp in the package is a 1000 watt per channel amp.. at max.. looks like it would be strong enough..

Check out the Buttkicker web site.
We got ours at AV-outlet.com.
BKA1004A amp was $329, LFEs were $179 each. The amp will drive 1,2, or 4 LFEs the best way, our 3 LFE setup is a bit jury-rigged but works well.
The amp gets its signal from the LFE output on the receiver. You need to fabricate a male to male and female Y cable, or cobaltcable will fabricate one for about $20. Ask for Adam.
Do it right, skip the gamer shakers ... they are weak!

Quite honestley the home theater setup seems like a good deal, you get that 1000 watt amp, plus on LFE, stand, and all the cables you need (including the sub splittler cable) for 400.00..

so basically you get everything you need for 400.00.. for one LFE.. if you want more LFE's you will need to get the splitter, the additional LFE and stand..

Man it's very tempting to get. Just need to deal with the wires ... how long are the wires that go to the LFE that connects to the couch? And could you extend them on your own easily?

Can anybody post pics of there set up with these installed?

Yes, those are standard stereo wires, like you have run on your surround sound speakers now.. so whatever you want for speaker wire, fairly cheap. Not sure how long the wires that come with the setup are, would be nice if they where long enough to go from receiver to back of the room.. that way you could have the amp setup in front and just run the LFE's as speakers..

I have 4 aura bass shakers wired in series bolted to my couch. They definitely add a whole new dimension to gaming and watching movies. Got them all for under $100 and at full power they can lift the couch off the floor. Depending on how you mount them, they aren't great for apartments, despite what the description says. I shook the pictures off the wall of a neighbors apartment when watching lord of the rings when I first installed them. So the vibrations can travel throughout the house or apartment. But they sure are fun.

And for gaming, who needs that cheesy rumble in the controller when you can have your whole body feeling it.

my couch is about 15ft of so away from the tv/receiver, and the way I set it up was so that the wire (1) comes from the receiver and goes against the wall all the way until it's in line with the couch, then it cuts across to the couch going under the end table and plugs into the buttkicker amp that is located under my couch, then theres a 2 short speaker wires that travel from the amp under the couch to each buttkicker, 1 under the same couch as the amp, the other next to the couch under the lazy boy chair.

Having the amp under the couch is good for times where you want to shut the buttkicker off, and don't want to get up to do so. If I'm watching superbad or some comedy flick, there's really no need to buttkicker action. but when you want it on the switch is a reach away, and you can also easily adjust the level of "shaking" in case some movie's have a higher level of bass you might wanna turn it down a little.

hope this helps...

That does help thanks! My audio set up is just sad. Just a standard creative PC speaker setup including a sub (not great at all). Hopefully when I get this, it will add to my gaming / movie experience with the same audio set up I have now.
