A lot of people calling out Ex Machina similarities, but the structure and sound design seems to call back to the original trailer for Ridley's Alien, should be interesting, hope it's not a disappointment.

I didn't know, the trailer was only suggested to me on YouTube and I was shocked there wasn't a thread.

It doesn't look that predictable, shame that film (well made tho it is) became the poster child for waht people think intelegence is in SciFi film making

Yeah, this does look very very similar to Ex Machina.

If not the story, the location/set design alone. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd do some screenshots from the trailer & Ex Machina to compare. But like I said, I'm lazy.

But having all the lights turn red, having very minimal and modern architecture and design. I wonder when production for this film began, and if it's all just a coincidence.

The tone feels completely different IMO. This seems like a sci-fi thriller, whereas Ex Machina had an indie sensibility to it.
