Default Nirvana: Live at the Paramount 1991 - Review up

Nirvana: Live at the Paramount Blu-ray

Nirvana: Live at the Paramount Blu-ray Review

Seems Nirvana is getting their first Blu-ray release!

Quote:
The Paramount concert, transferred from 16mm film and multi-track audio, is the only known Nirvana concert shot to film and will be available in a 1080p high-definition picture and uncompressed 5.1 surround sound and stereo on stand-alone Blu-ray, along with DVD and digital long form video formats.

I wouldn't get too excited about the actual remastered cd though.
There are so many remasters which sound worse than the original cd release.
Google "Loudness War" ...

The MFSL version of Nevermind is without a doubt better than the orignal CD, on good cans.

The way I'm reading this the set comes with a DVD, and the blu-ray is only a standalone release.

If the set came with a blu-ray that would wrap up my decision to get the Super Deluxe. Now I'm kind of mixed about what to get. Might just have to get the blu-ray. I'm sure both will be overpriced (i.e. $20+ for the blu-ray disc, and probably $80 or something for the 4CD+DVD)

Epic performence, best Endless nameless ever IMO. Kurt's voice was particulary awsome that night

It appears this is going to be presented in 1.66:1, I am assuming that is the OAR and it was shot on Super 16mm.

Taken from a YT promo:

Don't see why they would crop it to that size if it was shot on normal 16mm at 1.37:1.

Heck of a setlist. The still powerful grunge fan in me needs this. Now Pearl Jam needs a Blu Ray (I don't count the Eddie Vedder one as a PJ release)
