Presumed dead by his friends and family, Captain Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) returns home after fighting in the Revolutionary War to find the life he left behind in shambles. He quickly discovers his family estate in disrepair due to the unexpected death of his father. Facing the seemingly insurmountable task of managing his damaged land, he must also navigate a difficult relationship with his former fiancée, Elizabeth. Believing he had died in the war, she has recently agreed to marry another man, Poldark's cousin Francis. With the assistance of a kitchen maid named Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson), he sets out to rebuild his life and win Elizabeth back.

I've been trying to watch this on PBS, but it's just not holding my interest. The main actor is a little dull for me. I might get this for my parents, though.

LOVE this show...would certainly want to buy a complete series set if it were to come out. Kind of pricey to buy each season individually.

There's a complete set, but only in the UK:



It'll only work if you're regionless.

However the info here for the UK discs says this show is like most UK TV, filmed at 25 fps and released 1080/50i in the UK.

That format is also unplayable on a lot of US machines, but it means if you buy the UK BDs you're seeing the show at the correct speed.

The US 1080p BDs would be slowed down by 4%. This happens with most British TV on US BD.
