Thumbs up

Now THAT looks like a nice piece of home theater equipment. I'll bet you there's no old and cheap PC parts running in that thing!

Seeing that Pioneer Elite logo damn near bring a tear to my eye after these last six weeks of mediocre hardware that I endured. I feel like I've been in a desert and I'm just about to finally get some water!

Nice!

Exclamation It also includes Pioneer's exclusive home networking program!

Pioneer Elite Blu-Ray Disc player with Built-In Networking

Today at CEDIA we caught a sneak peak at Pioneer's forthcoming Blu-Ray DVD player. The model on display, which is not due to be shipped until Spring of 2007, was functional and provided excellent images.

The unit is capable of upconversion to 1080p as well as downconversion to a lower resolution. It also includes Pioneer's exclusive home networking program, Home Media Gallery, that easily connects to an existing home network via Ethernet or USB. This feature provides users direct access to movies, music and photos stored on a networked PC or any other DLNA compliant device for immediate viewing on a connected display. For more information please visit www.pioneerelectronics.com.

Spring in Europe a la PS3 over there?

I can't believe the Pioneer Elite would miss holiday season 06 here in the US.

I believe the Blu-ray side is maximizing the blue laser diode usage between them due to the shortage. There are too many CE manufacturers with products to have them all come out within a certain time period. Blu-ray is starting to performing a round robin on HD-DVD. By the end of May, HD-DVD will feel soiled. LOL

So is it true? No Pioneer Elite in 2006 anywhere?

Yeah i was pretty sure it was coming out next month. I really hope that it hasn't been pushed to spring unless that means they'll be putting more audio support in as well as 1.3

I find it hard to believe that Pioneer would throw off this entire year, but if they did, then that would make this Elite player practically second gen, for all intents and purposes.

I hope someone could put this in concrete for us, one way or the other: 2006 or not for the Elite BD player?

I hope JimPullan hits us up again soon from CEDIA...

I'm calling my rep right now and asking him. I won't have an answer till monday but if this is the case then it could provide some major problems for us because we have already penciled them into jobs that are looking for them. Not having them to deliver will cause problems.

The Pioneer BD player popped up today in Best Buy's inventory system... Normally items don't pop-up until they are close to being released. The date listed on it was 9-26, I do believe, although the release dates normally only hold true on CDs, DVDs, BDs and HD-DVDs.

I've been told the 9/24 date as well by Magnolia, and 10/5 for the Panasonic. We shall see...
