Default Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) (Collector's Edition)

Quote:
Synopsis
"A Laugh-Out-Loud Escapade! A Joy To Watch! A Delight!" – The New York Times

In the south of France, two rival con men — suave and sophisticated Lawrence (two-time Oscar®-winner Michael Caine, The Cider House Rules) and third-rate American hustler Freddy (Steve Martin, The Jerk) — make a wager. The first one to extract $50,000 from the next woman they meet wins ... and the other leaves town. The bet is on, the stakes are high and the blows are low in this hysterically funny, ruthlessly witty, dirty, rotten comedy!

*1987: Actor in a Supporting Role, Hannah And Her Sisters; 2000: Actor in a Supporting Role, The Cider House Rules

Bonus Features:

Mastered From A Brand-New 2K Scan Of the Film

Great movie but I wonder the driver behind the release.

The current one you can get for $6 and it has a pretty solid transfer.

Instead of this (or at least in concert with this) how about a blu-ray release of Bedtime Story?

I imagine this will get a new transfer at the very least (since MGM is very lenient in letting labels perform new scans and create new extras).

Hopefully they'll include the original teaser trailer with commentary from the DVD, so I can ditch that at last.

so that's it then - Shout's legacy over the next few years will be to re-release every MGM title that's already had a fairly good earlier release ?

Probably the 2019 remake starting Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson.

Don't think of it like that, think of it as Shout! releasing a bigger and better version of every MGM title.

Their "Fargo" release has to be the most pointless reissue ever.

Black Hole is owned by Disney, so unless the Gravity Falls set convinces them to start a deal with Shout!...

The question we all want answered is - will it have an audio commentary by Ruprecht?

Maybe Shout will try to one up themselves and get these two to do a commentary for this.

I'm very into the remake. I know people don't like Rebel Wilson (or to a lesser extent, Anne Hathaway), but I really like the screenwriter, Jac Schaeffer, who wrote the underrated indie sci-fi rom-com Timer, and the director is Chris Addison, who appeared in "The Thick of It" and the movie version, In the Loop. I also like both Wilson and Hathaway.

Per Birth Movies Death, they also showed photographs or announced that they had already completed Steve Martin and Michael Caine interviews for this edition at the SDCC panel.

Actually like the cover art quite a bit on this one. Excited to see what they do for Used Cars.
