So...does this contain 3D? I couldn't tell from the THREE logos littered all over the front and spine...

A pretty great steel. Matte finish, glossy red logo, area within the logo is debossed.

But the French releases have the English Atmos track downgraded to a DD+ encode.

It's true. I found out the hard way when I purchased the French steelbook edition of In The Heart of the Sea 3D. I was watching it and I thought to myself, "the sound is really weak." That's when I realized the English Atmos audio track wasn't included on the disc. ---> I ended up buying the US 3D BD release just for the Atmos audio. What a MASSIVE difference in sound quality.

The French steelbook of Batman v Superman looks great. I already have the USA 3D BD and I have the Italian steelbook in transit. I do like this artwork, though.

It looks like it's not just DD+, but it's DolbyAtmos on DD+7.1 core, on both 2D and 3D

I didn't know In the heart of the sea was just DD+7.1, without Atmos extensions

For In The Heart of th Sea 3D, the Atmos track is French. The English track is DD+.

It would be nice if BvS has the English Atmos track.

It has, but the core is DD+7.1 (a lossy codec), instead of lossless DDTrueHD7.1 (used for the FRE track), just like other 3D discs by WB in France (Mad Max: fury road and San Andreas); I don't know why they choose to use the simple DD+ (without Atmos extensions) for the ENG track of In the heart of the sea, but now I'm curious about Pan, another recent WB 3D title

Here's a french user that checked the discs in the 3D version: vo (ENG) DD+7.1-Atmos, vf (FRE) DDTrueHD7.1-Atmos in all discs

After checking out Corny Collins' photos of the Amazon France BvS steelbook, I broke down and purchased a copy. It looks too good to pass up. One could say that this steelbook is like kryptonite to my willpower. I couldn't say no.

Is it the same encode and bitrate as the NA release?
