Ok, So this has been fast tracked and released. It has Dolby Atmos. I'm sure Rahman's score would be brilliant! BD is released by Reliance.

Sadly, the much superior original does not have even a DVD release, and the only HD version available is the iTunes one with lossy 5.1 audio. The film also happens to be Mani Ratnam's first film mixed in Atmos. And yes, "Sinamika" and "Parandhu Sellavaa" trounce their hindi counterparts - "Enna Sona" and "The Humma-aaahh song" respectively - any time of the day.

Ok Jaanu, was an ok , average movie, however, ime a Shradda fan, so its a must for me, the songs were very well picturized, and the love story was endearing for both couples, very excited its out.

Saw this this wknd - Blu-ray PQ & AQ were quite satisfactory. Movie seemed surprisingly entertaining, light breezy fun...never actually got bored - and felt it was much much better than trash like Dear Zindagi, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Befikre, Tamasha, or Dil Dhadkne Dho....

Is this any good? I like the songs (by recent Rahman standards, they're a home run) and a friend of mine I usually trust is a BIG fan of the original, but I can't stand the lead duo of this.

Why not watch the original then (with subs)? I would imagine a film like this depends a lot upon chemistry between actors and from what little I've seen of these 2, they're just planks of wood with glossy varnish coating.

And they're a travesty when compared to the Dulquer-Nithya pairing.

Not a bad idea, and I agree with you 100% there. I liked Aditya in YJHD (that's a great movie in general), but while she's pretty, she can't act worth a damn. And the two of them together are unbearable. Aashiqui 2 is in serious contention for the title of "Worst Movie I've Ever Seen."

Agreed - 'OK Kanmani' in Tamil starring Dulquer Salmaan & Nithya Menon under Mani Ratnam's direction might be the version to watch, even if a tad inconvenient..
