Default CinemaNow Disc to Digital

Sorry if there's a thread for this, but I'm curious if anyone has a list, or a link to a list of eligible titles. I've got some credits to burn, and thought this may not be a bad idea to do. Thanks

I don't know of a list, but I've had some that didn't work at Vudu that did work with Cinemanow. Smokey & The Bandit, Fright Night (original), and others...

They used to have a PDF you could download but, since they have redesigned the entire site I don't see it anymore.

BestBuy sold CinemaNow to RMH last month.

Best buy doesn't own CinemaNow. Rovi owns the technology behind it, Best Buy just has a contract and owns the name. Rovi was trying to sell their turnkey video platform, but I don't know who they sold it to, or who RMH is.

RMH acquired the Rovi Entertainment Store from Rovi in July 2013. Last month they acquired the CinemaNow brand name and digital media store from Best Buy.

Edit: From the CinemaNow web site:

Stupid move. Buying the Rovi store could have been good, but they need the retail marketing of Best Buy to grow their business. Now in order to grow, they need their own marketing campaign, which I don't know if they can do, without something like Best Buy behind it.

I have the PDF.... someone at their support team emailed it to me a little while back. They may have added a few titles since, but doubt it if they just went through a buy-out.

Hey I'm also getting an error page from this link now. Do you happen to have it reposted anywhere? Thank you.

Have they shut down CinemaNow's Disc to Digital Program?
I can no longer find a download link and searching via google and on CinemaNow's site isn't getting my relevant information.
I might have an old laptop somewhere that still has the installation program but that won't do me any good if they have shut down it's operation altogether.

That is unfortunate. because now with Vudu removing the 50% off for 10 or more, removing the finally solid in-store conversion option which was 100% for titles listed as eligible for me, and rolling out this poorly tested under populated UPC data base mobile base app as it's poor excuse for a "replacement"; having Flixster or CinemaNow alternatives that had better recognition is exactly what we need right now.

You'd think someone might have IDK tested Vudu's app with people who have big movie libraries first, and waited several months to make sure it was going well (it isn't) before $#it canning the one solid option (in-store).

Not that I know of, I still have the software installed and it works. RMH never updated the software so it still has the BBY logo. If you need the installer let me know and I'll upload it for you.

Whoa, here is some new information...

https://cinemanow.zendesk.com/hc/en-...t-on-2-10-2017

Quote:
DESKTOP/DOWNLOAD PLAYER SUNSET ON 2/10/2017

Support for the CinemaNow Desktop/Download Player was retired on 2/10/2017. We are working on a new desktop application for downloading and offline playback that will be available soon. In the meantime, we recommend streaming your titles from a browser at cinemanow.com or from connected devices.

Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

They sunset the player last month, and apparently have something new coming...
https://cinemanow.zendesk.com/hc/en-...t-on-2-10-2017

That said even though they've dropped the software my install of the software seems to still work and I just tried a D2D and it found the movie and gave the option to purchase (did not complete the purchase though).

you can still download the cinemanow software via the achieve.org link and it still works on d2d for the time being
(how long it continues to work is anyone's guess)

So, it's actually hosted on the RoxioNow site.

That isn't a third-party site, per se, as it's the same link from archive.org. Roxio is the actual database provider that was used for the CinemaNow and Flixster D2D verification.
