Default How many screens do you watch at home?

I was watching Netflix on my computer the other night, and I found myself checking my phone a lot during the show... Do you think 2 screens is too many at once? I feel like I should just pay attention to 1 thing

What do others do at home?

If I have to check another screen while watching a film or TV show (on a proper screen, never on a laptop/tablet/phone), it will be important "emergency" or "needs immediate attention" text messages or e-mails on my phone... and the feature will be paused while I take care of business. Otherwise, it's just a quick glance at the notification on my phone and then back to the screen without hesitation.

I hope that you aren't like that in the theatres.

Ah ok, I seem to check news, messages, etc while I'm watching... not sure if this is normal! Ha, no I don't do that in the cinema...

I usually check these things when there's not much happening in the movie or TV show

A lot of shows I'll check my phone, and stuff. Some I won't, movies I never do.

In my basement I've got a 60" TV next to my projector screen so I often have some sporting event on the TV and a TV show or movie on the projector screen (or multiple sporting events during the weekend). A lot of the time I'll also be on my phone/iPad as well. I don't have the attention span to watch just one thing for the most part unless it's a movie.

I can't begin to understand people that do that. WATCH THE MOVIE! We turn off the lights, put on the film and watch it. I can check Facebook when it's over.

For example, I always roll my eyes on The Walking Dead when they say "Start your two-screen experience now." IMO, if you're on your computer during any film you're not getting the entire ONE screen experience. (Just talking about movies here, not game shows, sports, etc)

I work at home midnight to 11am and have very little to do 90% of the time. Have one screen up where I watch my work stuff, two for personal use (one for personal viewing and surfing with the other being for notes/excel) and then I have a 32 inch tv with an xbox one about 3 feet away.

If I catch my sons using an iPod/iPad while watching tv I tell them one of them is turning off & to pick which one. No multi viewing in my home.

I feel like I'm just good at watching two things at once If there isn't much action happening in the show or movie, then I'll keep one ear open and check my phone a bit. I did a bit of a Google search and found some more info on two screen viewing... pretty interesting! They say that people are using 2 screens to talk about the show (spoilers) as it's being broadcast...

I am with you 100%. My wife, we will be watching Waliking Dead or something, and she will be on her cellphone, then I get the "what happened with her?" "Who's that?" Annoys the crap out of me. She has calmed down recently after I quit answering her questions, but man...

Us one screen users are a dying breed.

Whenever I'm watching a movie at home, I don't want any distractions at all because it breaks the momentum. I don't have a lot of phone calls or text messages anyway to interrupt me and if so, I let the calls go to voicemail, and ignore the texts until the movie is over. Most of my calls are auto rejected because they're unknown, out of town, telemarketing solicitations and wrong numbers.

If it's a movie I've not seen before my attention is not divided but if it's a movie I've seen over and over again and I'm just passing time I have the movie on the TV, a movie I've downloaded on my computer playing and I usually play online poker on the laptop

This for a serious movie I want to get into. Just mindlessly watching TV, then I'm pretty bad at checking my phone. Then again, I make a good bit of coin promoting stuff on Instagram, so the bigger my following, the more I make. Social Influencing is a thing

Movies have always been magical experiences for me. I find it disheartening that this is even a question....
