Default War of the Worlds 1988-1990

Anyone here a fan of the old tv series?

I remembered watching this as a kid and remembering it was pretty creepy for it's time to watch the aliens brutally kill humans like when using their center hands that pop out from the host body.

I really enjoyed Season 1 and had so much potential but season 2...man what the hell? Yeah I read that the creative team was removed but season 2 really didn't make much sense in terms of direction it went. The creepiness and the mystery of the aliens suddenly went poof to a more of a dread, post apocalyptic setting.

Yes I know there will never be a BR release and the DVDs are sub par. Still can't find a reason for the removal of the alien hand over the planet animation before each episode started.
