all right, now that i am home and settled back in a bit, i wanted to share my holiday contribution. on the 22nd, i basically woke up and had it in my mind that my dad was going to buy himself a BR player. he is a gear head like me, so he knew the excitement of the tech and that. so he's did "well, we'll look." we head over to BB and are looking around. he was almost instantly ready to purchase. what really did him in was a side by side comparison of DVD and BR. he basically pulled a "holy shit, i'm sold." so we're looking at some of the different players and went with the samsung 1400. obviously it supports dts-hd and that. i really wanted to go the new panny for him, but at $200+ cheaper we decided that the price point was nicer for him. what then amazed me was that he then purchased two players (the icing on the cake). apparently her DVD player is acting up, so i was able to sell two players + media. i was happy with myself

Make sure he goes back to best buy and gets his 5 free blu-rays instantly per player.

You get both this week as of today. All he has to do is bring in the receipt for both players, and he will get 5 free blu-rays 34.99 or under free instantly per player. A Heck of a deal =)

normally i cringe when i see these sort of thread titles but you got to spend some time with your dad over the holidays looking into something you both enjoy and it sounds like he got a pretty sweet deal out of it
so congrats man hope he enjoys his blus

im with you on the cringe part. but hey, whatever we all can do....

but yeah, it was my first trip home on vacation (not for a funeral, business, etc) in over three years. so yeah, pretty nice

plus, he is now blown away with the PQ and AQ
