The first G.I. Joe was fun, might give it a go. I saw the second but can't remember anything about it.

I hope G.I. Joe: Retaliation is the extended action cut 122min version in 4K! Theater version cut out way too much. Especially the fighting! If you don't know the extended version was a Best Buy Bluray exclusive in the USA. Other places like UK (i think) got both versions on Bluray.

I can't believe it, I was just about to start my yearly back to back watching of these. I love these movies especially the first one!

IMO the first is a rare breed. It is obviously not to be taken too serious, also considering the source material. There is some humor in it but I think it is sursprisingly restrained for a film like this, which is something I welcome. But I have always thought this movie still had a serious tone to it somehow, there are human casualties in certain scenes and to me things never get too "childish" for lack of a better word. I really wish more similar movies could be like this, Transformers franchise immediately comes to mind but TMNT also.

Second one was good too, just not as enjoyable as the first one. The canyon fighting scene is amazing though. I saw this in Imax 3D and it looked spectacular (still looks fantastic at home too). I love all the ninja stuff, that should have gotten more screentime I think. Shame we'll lose the 3D by watching this so I hope that at least it's the extended cut.

Absolute day one buy!

What a great year this is already for UHD.

Of all the movies that could be releasing on UHD, we get these 2?

I admit, at times there were some pretty cool action scenes, but it’s just that there are far better movies deserving of a UHD release!

Yeah. I tried watching the 1st years ago but couldn’t get through it. I’m glad to see people getting what they want but I won’t be picking these up.

I think I'll get these on launch week if they are 23$ or lower each.

Really need Retaliation to come with the extended cut, even if it's just on Blu-ray. Been wanting to check that out but third-party prices are ridiculous.

It's included on the 3D release over here but I have never even watched it. 3D has always been the way to go for me, even over extended/unrated versions.

Was thinking about these films recently and how they have the potential to be great on 4K and HDR/DV.

Fun movies that I haven't seen in a while and I'd much rather have these as go-to action movie demo material.

What a weird thing to release. There’s a reboot in the works, but it’s not coming this year. Why spit these out now and make them feel tired in the market again by the time the next one comes out?

At least in Australia the theatrical is only on DVD/3D.

Cool, some good action but, haven't watched these films since I can't even remember. When we finally get a dead movie week, I go back and watch old flicks. But the news for this makes me grab this and re-watch. Plus, it's a little rainy today so its perfect. And Troll wife and Troll son are at work.

So, Me the Surround sound and cotton balls for the blood about to pour from my ears.

I have over 10 Paramount titles coming in the next month or two so honestly I'm not complaining. They're putting out considerably more than anyone else right now and not every release will be desired by some.

The complaints of 'whaaa why this movie, why not that movie?' can clear off.

Any young format requires content, I don't care what that content is. Just don't buy it, if you don't like it. It's really that simple.

Yeah I gues you’re right. It’s good for the format (the more the merrier).

Who knows, if the discs look and sound incredible, and it’s a slow month, I may go ahead and buy them if they are cheap

Snake Eyes is pretty bad-ass IMO!
