Found one of those power sellers on ebay, with feedback in the hundreds of thousand, started comparing their Blu prices to some others I've dealt with, and 8 out of 10 titles, they had them beat on price, including besting Amazon's lowest 9/10 times...so I go through their whole stock to find what I most want.
And then I notice on every Blu, there is a 2.98 media mail charge, with no combined shipping mentioned, and no change in shipping charge after adding to my cart. And they receive such volume of messages I can't contact them, I mean I sent a message, but don't expect to ever get an answer. And since everything is buy it now, with ebay's current policy immediate payment is required, so option to "request total from seller" before buying is not available. Paying 2.98 per blu when he's just shipping media mail basically ruins the deals I thought I'd found with this seller. When I tallied up what it would cost in shipping to get everything I wanted from them, it was over $50. I've mailed 50+ movies to someone in one box, media mail and it didn't cost that much. Does this guy really mail each blu individually even if the same person orders over a dozen the same day, isn't that more work and tedious? I even read about some sellers rebating extra shipping cost through paypal after you buy more than one item at a time from them, so I thought, maybe I'll try something since I really wanted to take advantage of their base prices, so did a test order where I bought 2 of his cheapest titles, and, got charged $6 for shipping and so far nothing. If that stands I guess I'll be doing business with another seller which is a shame for this guy cause I would've given him a lot of business, but you can't get in touch with them. |

For the bulk sellers, that is usually the way that it goes. The "selling price" is so low that they make their money on shipping charges - whether or not they actually send out the items individually or in a single box.
Non-bulk sellers are much more willing to do what you suggested - combine shipping and send you a refund through Paypal for anything above the actual cost of shipping. A non-bulk seller did that very thing for me this past week. |

Can't you complain to Paypal and get a refund for excessive shipping charges? Changes deliberately made by ebay are the root of the issue, but they're not going to change because they get extra money that way. A lot of sellers don't even realize that the changes were made, so they don't know that they should be refunding (because they think they're still set up to automatically combine shipping). If nothing else, you can get a little satisfaction by giving exceedingly negative feedback.

The thing is, one of the top other bulk sellers I buy from is already set up for free shipping on everything, with base prices generally only slightly higher than this other guy I mentioned I was trying to buy from. It's just frustrating their shipping is so varying from seller to seller.
Not sure I have a case for excessive shipping charges. This guy has a lot of negative feedback for broken/wrong items sent/lack of responding to people, but it's far outweighed by his positive feedback, and seems like with these bulk sellers they have so many transactions they often have high amounts of old and recent negative feedback, though they generally come through as expected. |

if you know about the shipping charges before, and order from them anyway and leave negative feedback because of the shipping charges, that is a douchey thing to do...
Dont like the charges, dont order from them, simple... if they have hundreds of thousands of feedback, your hundred dollar order will not break them... going to paypal and complaining is douchey too |

I placed the small order only as a test to confirm if he really charges $3 for shipping per disc, and to see if I'd get some kind of paypal shipping rebate as I read some sellers do. Never had any intention of leaving negative feedback, was just responding to another poster who suggested it. Wouldn't be worth the bother, he gets dozens of negatives every month and keeps trucking along. And he shipped my blus together in 1 package.
