Finland When to stop

Ok people, I've been around the audio block a few time as many of you have. I've seen people go through as many as 4 sets of speakers in a year due to upgraditis, change amps like socks, and buy so many receivers that you would think that they were an NFL team owner!

My question is this...have you ever had the urge to just stop? I mean being satisfied and saying that's it (unless you win the lotto or become very rich). I loved my trip to Jacksonville, but I also learned a few things - there are speakers and amps that sound out of this world....with prices to match! They sound better than my system, tru dat, but do they sound thousands better? I heard a speaker that kept a stereo image wherever I sat (the Scaena 3.4), beautiful small monitors that played so full at the lower register that you thought they had subs, and many more revelations - however I said to myself "your system ain't half bad"!!!!!

Now that I've heard some of the best that audio can offer and survived - my lust is satisfied! I used to always listen to speakers I couldn't afford (Meridian, Dynaudio to name a few) but that many speakers on the elite level was a first.
Out of everything I heard I liked the Whisper XD, JA Pulsar, Tidal Audio, and Scaena's (in that order) the best. I feel free!!!!! I feel like I know what I really want (can't afford it), but what I currently have doesn't lack in dynamics, nor clarity I will continue to upgrade my Heresy Speakers (crossover is the last upgrade) but after that, I'll be totally satisfied unless I come into a lot of disposable cash!

I now know my limits and I don't feel like I have to have the latest thing ... Ithink I'm going to stop now and just enjoy the music (unless I can afford Whispers )

Chime in - have any of felt the urge or have the desire to stop? Go to a show with real high-end speakers and compare it to your rig, you'll either get well or really get sick
