The cinema release in the UK got a cut status by 23 seconds. Maybe this will harm the (4K) Blu-ray as well.

Seems not. John Wick (2014) was released as a 4K DCP.

Weird that the first one would be finished in 4K, but the sequel isn't. You'd think with the franchise now being established and popular and having more money to play with, 4K would be a no-brainer.

Is there 100% correlation between DI & DCP? Seems to me that a 4k di doesn't always get a 4k dcp. And the cinema version is never used for the home version. Deadpool had 6 different versions.

No, it isn't 100% Deadpool had a 2k DCP, even for 2D. But that's Fox. Lionsgate tends to release 4k DCPs if they have 4k DIs. All of the Lionsgate titles on the 4k DI list had 4k DCPs. While not certain, it is very likely a 2k DI.

Saw John Wick Chapter 2 last night and loved it. There's a long gunfight in darkly lit corridors that should be a good test of black/near-black performance...and another in a very bright mirrored environment that should be good demo material. Hopefully they will do a good job on the disc (along with some "making of" features).

Whenever the pre-order wants to pop up on Amazon, I'll be ordered. Fantastic film, fantastic sound mix, fantastic cinematography that's going to look AMAZING in 4k with HDR. I'm ready whenever you are Lionsgate!

Being pedantic, it's not Amazon selling it for £35, it's a third-party selling through Amazon.
