USA Carnival of Souls 3D Blu-ray (1962) [Region Free] [BD-R]

I'm pleased to announce that EYEPOP-06 is on it's way and it's a brand new conversion of "Carnival of Souls" the 1962 creepy classic that everyone should have in their collection!

TRAILER

Oh hey, are there gonna be any stretch goalz for this one?

Also, let me say that after watching your KS video in SBS, with the trailer and clips, WOW, very strengthy indeed, tons of depth and rounded faces, this just may be right up there with GAMMERA!

Thank you - yes Alex has again done a superb job. It's taken a while but I believe it's worth the wait!

There will be stretch goals & bonus content - we'll be able to add the trailer and we're busy discussing other options. Our challenge here is going to be disc space as we want to keep a single disc and not over compress the main 3d film so we'll see what we can fit. So we may add some other bonuses as downloads rather than crush the disc.

At the moment though it's all hands on deck to get this across the line - we're a little behind our usual schedule - in general most of the Kickstarters have been 100% funded in 3-4 days and we're currently sitting at around 65%. So I need to do a lot of cajouling of 3D fans!

It's that warning about being possibly hit with fees that will double the price of the disc. Seeing something like that is massively off-putting, I have never been hit with import charges for a Kickstarter but it made me stop and think before backing. I would say that as long as everything is set up to serve only/mainly the US, sales will be significantly impacted, especially if after the Kickstarter ends there's still no way to order a physical disc to any address outside of America.

As stated elsewhere as per previous EYEPOP-3D Kickstarters, the non-USA discs will ship from the UK so UK backers will not incur any import duties.

Import duties present a double edged sword for us; we have previously had complaints about import duties being levied - so if we warn we receive complaints, if we don't warn we receive other complaints.

If you clarify that on the site, you might get a few more UK backers.

We're just over half way through the Kickstarter and we've only just hit 200 backers - if you want this disc, especially the Platinum Edition this is the way to guarantee getting a copy. The going has been slow on this fantastic, and highly influential piece of cinema.

On a side note Nightmare Castle 3D, original double disc set with all the bonus content including the full hour long livestream (all in 3D) is down to the final 3 copies in the USA - this will not be produced again in this format. If you want it you should grab it now.

Looks like a nicely done conversion from that trailer, Eyepop 3D, nice work.

C’mon guys, let’s blast through that £15,000 mark so we can get that trailer on the disc and the SBS download of the One Step Beyond episode!

Reupping this — we have six days to hit the £15,000 mark, £4,536 to go — let’s do this!

With about 5 days to go we've added a Lenticular Slipcover option - we're still under 250 backers though and well under the £15K stretch goal.

As a well known, highly influential and critically acclaimed film I though it would do as well as "House on Haunted Hill" which had a "whopping" 522 Backers but either the 3d audience is shrinking further or we've made a wrong choice of film on this one.

Anyway latest update is here.

Andrew, I pledged at launch, for the basic disc.

I can only speak for myself of course but card inserts and slipcovers are not an inducement for me. However I would happily kick in more for certain added content to the disc -- namely 3D extras. You're offering a download of upconverted One Step Beyond episodes and, for example, I would happily pony up more if there were multiple of these episodes -- or upconverts of any other genre-related PD content -- included on the disc itself.

Anyway, I'm a ginormous fan of all the work you, Phil and Alex are doing and I anxiously hope you keep it up. As for stretch-goal offerings -- and again, speaking only for myself (I realize others may differ) -- my mantra, to borrow from an old phrase in the media business, is Content is King.

Pledge upgraded! And I just talked my girlfriend (and fellow 3-D fanatic) into a lenticular level pledge too! Super stoked that you added this reward level, THANK YOU SIR!

As for picking the wrong film, I’m absolutely mystified as to why this isn’t doing better among our faithful, it’s an excellent creepy culty classic AND the 3-D conversion is astounding! C’MON already guys, let’s hit that £15,000 stretch goal mark!
