Atlus USA announced on Wednesday that it will release the Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen and Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro games in the Americas and Europe this year. The second game in AQUAPLUS' Utawarerumono trilogy will ship under the title Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception this spring, and the series' third climatic installment will ship under the title Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth later this year. Atlus USA began streaming a trailer for Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception on Wednesday.
Both games will ship on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in both physical and digital formats in the Americas. However, the games will have only physical PlayStation 4 releases and digital PlayStation Vita releases in Europe. The releases will feature the original Japanese audio with English text. The PlayStation 4 versions will cost US$49.99, and the PlayStation Vita versions will cost US$39.99.
AQUAPLUS released Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan on September 21. Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen shipped for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan in September 2015. The game's producer said in 2015 that that the second and third games were in development simultaneously.
The 25-episode television anime adaptation of Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen premiered in Japan in October 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video. The company will release the anime with an English dub under the title Utawarerumono: The False Faces on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on April 25, 2017.
AQUAPLUS released the original Utawarerumono game in 2002 for PC. The game inspired a 2006 television anime series and a 2009 original video anime series. ADV Films originally licensed the first Utawarerumono TV anime, but FUNimation Entertainment later picked up the license.
The original Utawarerumono adventure simulation game takes place in a world where people have animal ears and tails, and rival generals battle for supremacy.
Atlus USA announced on Thursday that its American and European release of the Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth (Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro) PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita game is slated for September 5.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth is the last game in the Utawarerumono trilogy. Atlus describes the story:

The American release will be physical and digital for both the PS4 and PS Vita editions. The European release will be physical and digital for the PS4 and digital-only for PS Vita.
A limited edition will be available. Pre-orders and limited edition copies in the Americas will come with a bonus slip case and double-sided pillowcase featuring artwork from the game. The audio will be Japanese.
The Utawarerumono game series is developed by AQUAPLUS. Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth shipped in Japan for PlayStation 3, PS4, and PS Vita in September 2016.
