White Day - a 'romantic horror adventure,' announced for PlayStation VR

Virtual reality is ripe for terrifying experiences and now there’s one more in the works for the PS4. At today’s Sony Computer Entertainment Korea PlayStation press conference, Korean developer Roi Games unveiled a new PlayStation VR game titled White Day.

The new project is an official remake of the cult 2001 Korean survivor-horror PC game White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, developed by Sonnori.

White Day is the name of the Japanese holiday occurring on March 14, exactly one month from Valentine’s Day, and is also celebrated in South Korea, Taiwan, and China. On Valentine’s Day in Japan, girls typically give chocolate to the boys, as a symbol of love or respect. Boys then return the favor on White Day by giving gifts to the girls.

In the original White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, you play as a boy who enters his school the night before White Day to leave candy to a girl he likes only to find himself trapped inside and then must survive supernatural elements to find a way to escape. The PlayStation VR remake will follow a similar plotline.
