Default Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

u’ve asked for it and we listened. Today we finally get to announce that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception are being released for the PS4 in the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, available 7th October 2015 (9th October in UK and Ireland)!

Since the launch of the PS4, we’ve seen plenty of requests across our Twitter, Facebook, and message boards all over the internet for the first three games in the Uncharted series, which have managed to sell an amazing 21+ million copies and garner an average 92 Metacritic rating, to receive a remastered release.

We couldn’t agree more, as what better way to get prepared for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End than to revisit – or play for the first time – the first three games that launched the fortune-hunting icon that is Nathan Drake?

Early last month, Eric and I took a trip to Austin on the down low to visit the incredible team at Bluepoint Games to check out Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in person and get ready for this announcement. What we’ve seen of the collection so far looks fantastic!

The team at Bluepoint Games is incomparable regarding their portfolio of achievements and remastered releases, and we’ve been working closely with them to bring over our engine to make Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection an exemplary game.

That means not only allowing you to play the single-player campaigns of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but they’re also working on a range of improvements and additions across all three games.

We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates.

By pre-ordering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection now, you can receive the Nathan Drake Pack which includes single player skins of iconic Drake outfits as well as everyone’s favorite weapons: the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS guns. If you pre-order the digital download via the PlayStation Store, you will also get an Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection PS4 dynamic theme.

Oh, and one other important note, buying the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection grants you exclusive access to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta (while the beta is available, of course.)

With the release a scant four months away, we’re looking forward to getting you ready for Drake’s next adventure with the remastered version of these first three Uncharted titles. With luck we’ll be able to put together some opportunities for our fans to see and play parts of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection prior to its release. We’ll keep you posted here in the upcoming months.

The news at the moment has to be taken with the tongs: it seems that Sony Computer Entertainment has scheduled a collection dedicated to Uncharted, to be released at the end of 2014 on the PlayStation 4.

The Blu-Ray contains five titles, all remastered in order to exploit the potential of the next-gen consoles:
Uncharted Drake's Fortune
Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Uncharted: Fight for Fortune

Fight for Fortune was a card game released for the Vita.

I'll pick this up for sure if it's true. Still haven't played Golden Abyss and I still play the first 3 a lot. Will be nice to have all 3 for the PS4.

back on topic though, I thought those games looked great on the ps3. I can't imagine how good a remastered version would look, I'm definitely going to pick this up

If it really does include Golden Abyss, I'll pick it up for sure (I've already rocked the 1st three UC but it would be cheaper picking this up than getting a Vita and the Vita version of UCGA). Now if only ACIII Liberation would come to the PS4/XB1 and KZ Mercenary (and Resistence: Burning Skies), then I definitely have zero reason for a Vita.

It sounds like it's coming to a single Blu-ray which I doubt is possible. The 3 Uncharted games on PS3 use up about 84GB.

They can make a 4 disc set (The 1st 3 UC games one 3 50GB Discs and the two Vita games on one 25GB disc depending on how big each game file would be). Or all games on 1 100GB disc (they exist but are used by corporations for data storage if I'm not mistaken). That would depend on how big the two Vita games would be (after being remastered).

If they don't release these via PS Now, PS Now might as well not exist. Dead in the water.

Well, like it was stated in the title, it's a rumor.

Oh, I know that. Merely the first thing that came to mind upon reading the rumor. And what I really mean, is that if Sony expects to do any meaningful business via PS Now during the PS4 generation, this makes no sense. I have posted before that I think it's more likely PS Now is intended to be the "PS5". If you want to sell that service, now, though, you have to offer the UC franchise exclusively. Just my opinion with no foundation in fact.

I would only be interested if the online was still working on them and it is running at 1080p at 60fps preferably with higher quality assets as well (they say that for uncharted 3 onward there asset pipeline was notably higher and ready for next gen, whilst I doubt this is true I would like to be proven wrong [remember they also said uncharted 4 would be for ps3]).

Honestly, U3 didn't really impress me visually. While it was a good looking game, but at the same time, we saw it before in UC2 (which blew everyone away) but didn't have that wow factor in part 3. (I said the same thing with TLOU which I played, beat and enjoyed).

At this point nothing has been graphically impressive since Uncharted 2. Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us both look better but they are pretty small improvements over Uncharted 2.

This is a big reason why I think the PS4 was so necessary, the peak of the PS3's power was largely reached in 2009. Hopefully there will be an impressive PS4 game soon.

That's what happens when set hardware is used for so very long. There is only so much you can do, something Naughty Dog have themselves stated this.
