Default Table 19 (starring Anna Kendrick, Lisa Kudrow, Craig Robinson) March 3, 2017

I'm guessing it's a wide release this Friday since my theatre is getting it.

I enjoyed it, anytime when AK is the lead I'm satisfied.

Oh, so you're one of those "if my favourite actresses is the lead, it's a good movie" members? I love AK but hated Rapture-Palooza and Get A Job.

Love AK. Got to meet her on her book tour. But this looks dumb. Strangers awkwardly meet, have little in common, then find they have more in common then they think and become friends and make the situation better. That about it? So realistic!

2/5

This needs to be discussed on How Did This Get Made because the way this film unraveled story wide was truly perplexing. I ended up walking out of it liking it but I think it was mainly because of how out of left field some story reveals were.

Kendrick was cute, Squibb and Merchant were hilarious, and Robinson and Kudrow did not work together as a married couple whatsoever and their makeup shower scene was awkward. Revolori was odd and just not funny in his awkward role. I also want to know who Margot Martindale owed a favor to that she got relegated to for the 'voice on the phone' role.

I don't think I'll buy it on Blu, but I'd buy a UV code to watch on a rainy day?

^I agree, this was a very strange/uneven film that I really wasn't liking for the first half but when the story unravels it gets more interesting and there are a couple of nice moments. Totally a rental type of movie.

I have to give it credit for at least three surprising turns I never would have guessed based on the trailer. But I also thought it looked like a more enjoyable movie from the trailer. It's an easy enough watch and not really bad, just thoroughly mediocre. Yet I also understand if someone does find it bad.

Just watched it tonight. I'd say very average too. If it were some basic brunette instead of Anna Kendrick I wouldn't give a damn about it.

Watched this today, and I thought it was decent. I wish they would have kept with the more comedic tone and dialed down some of the drama, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Admittedly, a lot of the appeal is Kendrick, but I like much of the supporting cast as well. Probably a 3.5/5 for me.

How Did This Get Made was a fun idea, but they completely wasted it.
They went from discussing movies that really are so awful that we actually wonder how they got made (Gymkata, Super Mario Bros, etc) to just doing random movies they want to mock (like several of the Fast/Furious movies).
Either way, Table 19 is far from a candidate for something like that.
