Default Panasonic dmp-ub900/700 remote

I have Googled this and also posted a message on the Panasonic site on Twitter but got no answer. I'm trying to find out if the remote for the DMP-UB900EB will work with the DMP-UB700EB model. I know the remote for the UB900 has a back light and the button layout just looks far better. I end up pressing the Netflix button instead of the up arrow on the UB700 model especially when watching TV/Movies in a darkened room.

If Panasonic's earlier models are any indication, it probably will. I have both the DMP-BD605 and the DMP-BDT460, and despite the 605 being from 2009 and the 460 being from last year, both remotes work on both models.

I actually use the 605's remote on the newer player for the same problem you're having, plus it's a larger remote and just feels nicer.

Yes, the remote for the 900 works on the 700. Hell, the remote for an eight year old BDP220 works on the 700. Much to my annoyance.

The remote for the UB900 (or one very, very similar) can be bought for buttons on ebay and it works just fine with the 700.

Why is it annoying? You know you can change the frequencies of the remotes so that they don't clash, right?

I am aware. Just had to spend a little time teaching my Harmony to realise it too!

Do the newer models have a straight Top Menu button? The one thing I hate about my new player is that it lacks that functionality. No matter how hard I push the Top Menu button on my old remote, it only acts as a pop up and I have to use the sub menu list to navigate to it.
