Apologies if this has been discussed or if this is the wrong place but I'm fairly new here!
Just got back from holiday and went to check what films are on the Amazon Prime Deals (£1.99 rentals) and the whole section seems to have disappeared. Anyone know whether they have scrapped this? Was quite good for a rental on fairly new films! Thanks! |

Yep - I kept meaning to rent Life, but didn't get around to it.
I remember someone contacted Amazon a while back and they said the offer would end in September sometime. I, for one, hope it's back soon - it was a PITA when I bought Skull Island (on release day) and it also appeared on Prime 1.99 rental on the same day, but I enjoyed the movie so I'm not stressed on that. However, it's saved me quite a lot of cash as I have rented a few and was really glad I did, as it stopped me buying Blu's of them. Flip side is Split, rented that and then ended up buying the Blu. Blu's I've saved on are, Ghost in the Shell (really terrible movie - I won't watch again and the one way I'll get the Blu will be when it's a quid in Poundland!), The Great Wall (fun but rubbish - might get if it's in a combi/fiver sale) and also Logan (against popular opinion, I also hated that!), so I've saved some pennies thanks to Prime ![]() Normal Prime has caught me out recently too, on movies like Age of Shadows and The Handmaiden, they're appearing on normal Prime within a few weeks of their Blu release. Plus stuff like Railroad Tigers, Silence and A Monster Calls (just the ones that spring to mind) are also available, so movies are appearing quickly now - guess they need to compete with Netflix. Canal Plus have a co-production deal with Amazon so most of their new release films (not the classic restorations) go on Amazon Prime streaming a couple of months after home DVD/BD release. However they don't stay forever as some of the titles have been removed after a few years. They seem to have similar deals with the likes of eOne. Also they now seem to be adding more back catalogue films from Warner and Paramount to Amazon Prime. |

Managed to catch KSU, Split and Get Out on there, while the wife watched Beauty and The Beast, so not a complete dead loss... |
