Default shuttering BD playback on Vaio

Has anyone experienced poor playback on your BD Vaio. Since I receivced my AR190G a month ago, the playback is the pits. It constanly shutters. This does not happen with a standard dvd playing. It performs great. The BD playback reminds me of trying to play a pc game with high requirements on a old pc. Thought it might have been a RAM issue, but I had upgraded to 2GB and still performs like crap. Any ideas????

See my sig for AR190G factory specs. CPU is 2.0GHz Yonah Core Duo.

Only time I ever had an issue with a Blu-ray, was once the processor was not ramping up when trying to play a disc.

I did a System Restore to a couple days earlier and it worked fine. Still does.

Just bought a VAIO FZ290 with 2.2 Ghz core 2 duo, 1GB of RAM (for now), NVADIA 8400m GT, and blu ray looks crappy, I thought it was RAM also, but i havn't upgraded yet. . . SONY told me that NVADIA hasn't released updated for the drivers yet and the will "most definetely solve my problem" also, when I run HDMI to a TV with 1920x1080 the desktop is bigger than the panel size by about the height of the task bar times two on all sides of the screen, I have tried on two diff TV's, a samsung and a sony. . . any help here? thanks, Dustin

Don't know how the 8400GT control panel is set up, but this 7600GT has the option for 1920x1080 and it does fit a HDTV screen perfectly.

As for the Blu-ray looking crappy... which Blu-ray?
On what screen?

*MOST* Blu-rays look pristine on this screen - and on a friend's Panny via HDMI.
Some BDs have less than stellar transfers/encoding *cough* Warner *cough*...

Well planet earth series played on my laptop output HDMI to my 42in Sony Bravia LCD, then I plug in the reg Blu Ray player and put in the same disc and I get great quality. The letters that say "BBC HD" at the begining have jagged edges when played on my laptop, maybe I could adjust the NVADIA control panel, but I have tries a lot of different settings, as far as the desktop looking too large, I don't know if it's the drivers for the 8400m GT (or lack there of) or someone had mentioned that the televisions have a selection for 1:1 pixel aspect or a "fill" selection that may have been activated. . .
