Default Sony's media NOT Nintendo's

Remember that Sony has the most say in Blu-ray technology. This means that the next line-up of video game consoles will have their own format unlike this generation. Sony will use the Blu-Ray, Microsoft will probably use a dual sided DVD and Nintendo looks as if they will use AOD on their console. Devlopers will have a hard time with these different formats but just time the PS, N64, DC era, the developers will decide...

Actually they might get Blu-Ray. remember Nintendo has something with panasonic so they might have it. I'm not sure though.

By the way what is AOD.

I hope the blu-ray disc become standard on all game console, especially if the disc's come in the cartrige to protect them from fringer prints and dust...

AOD = Advanced Optical Disc, but it's called HD-DVD now. Check http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents for more info about that.

I thought Sony had officially announced that they entended to use Blu-Ray for PS3. Still, PS3 is probably at least 18 months away.

They made a good choice ! This media can contain up to 50 GB, for games, it's huge potential ! And it's difficult to copy that kind of disc because of it's capacity ! 8)

Yes, and that's why this console will be bought, like PS2 and PS One. Sony knows it, hackers buy the main system, not the games  8)

What about Panasonic's new player with it's 50GB blank dual layer disks. Surely if you can crack the protection it shouldn't be that difficult to copy PS3 games? especially if using a Blu-Ray recorder attatched to a pc.

xbox 360 will use the competing company brand hd dvd tho im a fan of blu ray but any way if nintendo does use blu ray ull see it join and become a memeber but at e3 all they talked about for revolution was nothing at all not even a glimpse for a game of it not even a release date so im upset about that.... all they did talk about was there gameboy and stuff.... so that means that they have not probably decided on what they wanted to use for there hardware yet....

MSFT will probably use the ill fated HD-DVD format. When Blu-ray wins, MSFT has to use HD-DVD for somthing . I smell HD-DVD rom games on Xbox 360 in the near future. The head honcho for MSFT Xbox divison USA came from SEGA.

Sony will come out with 100GB Blu-Ray which they will use for PS4. the PS4 wil probably retaill for $800.

Nintendo will use DVD 9 as Wii did. But will invent a way to controll games with your mind.

I'm failing to see make the connection Sega and DVD, regardless of how many emoticons you use.

every forum, every once in a while gets someone who spouts off things and try's to wink their way in. They assume we are ignorant. Does the Winking emoticon really make you think that we think you have the "inside scoop" ??

Puhlease...

I see this from Oshodi on AVS, now here...it's not even funny anymore.
It's become annoying.

If you know something, you had better have facts backing it. If you have an opinion, state it as such!

Especially if you are going to dig up a thread that is over a year old.
