What an awful title. I thought that was a placeholder. It's too bad this wont be connected to SF, bc I wanted the characters in SFV since I had no hope for a SF EX 4. I hope this is good

Btw what is Arika's connection to Capcom bc that training mode is ripped straight out of SF IV

Looks neat for a lower budget fighting game.

Re: abnormalities in 4K on PS4 Pro. Sorry, but the developers didn’t have a 4K TV to test, so please wait until we buy one (LOL). We’ll acquire one tonight and report afterwards.
at least they're honest

That is funny about the 4K TV, but shows they're starting from scratch in their careers. I know there are some fighting game maker development games for Unity 3D, but hopefully this is an all original title.

it's a very small team, I think only 5 people are working on it. it's made in Unreal Engine 4 btw

Developer has 50 people.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arika

Likely will have to add in some outsourcing work etc and the number will far exceed that as well. No way a game like this was made by just five people. The beta was really good and very much so looking forward to this. Really hope they have a physical release.

Light version is missing one character, Hokuto, and the standard version has 10 more Gougi decks.

I'm not sold on this yet. the beta was rough, I also don't like it when fighting games add 'loadouts'

just give me character A vs character B, with their strengths and weaknesses

Apparently the game doesn’t have offline content, other than training, trials and pvp (no arcade or VS CPU)

So pretty much the boring stuff unless there’s a story mode. I like doing just regular me vs. CPU battles and Arcade mode in fighting games. Online I can live without. Trials are boring and I just figure out how to play the game on my own since usually fighting games try to explain the controls that make 0 sense. I play better in fighting games without instructions other than just what buttons are for punches and what are for kicks.

The game has less content then SF5 did at launch, which would be fine if it was priced as a budget game. Sadly it isn't. I was expecting it to cost a similar price to Killer Instinct at release ($20ish for all characters) and then maybe have a deluxe version with some extra bits and bobs for $30 to maybe $40.

But at $60 for all characters, that is just to much when really the only mode is a training mode and an online mode. No story, no arcade, no modes like Injustice's 2's multiverse. But the same asking release price as many other AAA fighters.

This one shouldn't be given a pass as a result, just as SF5 didn't at release either (and it had more content).

This looks fu**ing amazing! As a fan of the EX series, I'm glad they finally made a sequel.
