![]() ![]() I picked this one up today. Great to finally own the film on Blu-ray! For those wondering how our disc stacks up I think it's pretty impressive. It appears to be the same master used as the German release as the Concorde logo is on the front of the film. There's slight edge enhancement which is visible on shots with high contrast images (see the below attached water tower image for an example) but nothing seriously intrusive in the scheme of things. Detail levels are very impressive for a 20 year old film without a massive budget, grain is consistent but light and very filmic and lastly the image is quite stable with very few specks showing up throughout proceedings. Black levels are solid. Some night shots do show up elevated black levels and obviously they have some increased grain but all in all it presents very nicely on the disc. Audio was simple but well rendered. Dialogue and the score are well prioritised. No subtitles. Having lived with the DVD for so many years the improvement is readily noticeable in all areas. The only special feature is a trailer for the film. For those wanting to import I've confirmed that the disc is region free and the only 50Hz content is the trailer which is accessible via the main menu. Everything prior to the main menu is 1080/24p. Another excellent release from Umbrella of a film that's not widely available in markets worldwide yet and for a bargain price if you're picking it up from JB Hi-Fi in their sale at the moment.
