I kind of like the animation style myself, although admittedly the faces could be more expressive

It looks like it falls into the same trap that a lot of fan CG animation falls into. If the camera doesn't have a reason to move, don't move it. If it does have a reason to move, move it like it's subject to gravity, friction, inertia and all the other things that affect how objects move in the real world. Don't just float it from A to B because you can.

I mean, aside from the very odd character design choices.
