Default Assassin's Creed Anime Series

Quote:
Adi Shankar, producer of the animated Castlevania series starting on Netflix this week, has just announced his next project: an anime adaptation of Assassin’s Creed.

In a Facebook post, Shankar writes:

Quote:
I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.

Can someone explain to me how in any way shape or form this can be called an anime? I can probably cut them a little slack on Castlevania because at the end of the day that was originally a Japanese property, but Assassin's Creed? It's about as European as it gets (and I've had my fingers crossed for a sequel set during the Bakumatsu to be announced, such a ripe time/setting for the game).

Other than that, yeah could be good! TV is a better format for an adaptation of the AC world than big-budget Hollywood live action imo.

I'll watch the hell out of it if it's tied to the games and film.
