Perhaps it was her (Sondra Locke) Veronica Lake hair style, or the odd quirky characters. But Bronco Billy always seemed like it was paying homage to Preston Sturges IMO. I really like this film. One of Eastwood's best.

As a little kid, I remember playing hookie with my older brother and watching this on HBO. This is a great and often overlooked Clint flick.
