Thumbs up On Same titles Blu Does Well

What I liked about this chart was that it clearly shows that in the case where movies are released in BOTH formats that Blu wins two out of three. Both the "300" and "The Departed" sold better in Blu than their HD-DVD counterparts. The only HD-DVD that beat Blu was "Planet Earth" and it didn't beat Blu by much. Once the smoke clears on the Holiday sales, I would like to see the Harry Potter sales compared.

I agree, the HP sales should be in Blu favor...however, I just live for the day that Planet Earth is dominated by Blu-ray. It's always a thorn in the flesh for a Red supporter to come up to me and continually wave that in my face--however I usually just wave 300 right back at them.

Absolutely great chart. Direct comparison that cannot be argued with.

I have the feeling that Planet Earth was won by HD DVD due to the fact that they have nothing left to purchase on thier format. No kidding. Look at all of the exclusive titles BD has.

Understandable...but I am still waiting for the day that we surpass them--just another weapon we can take away from the Red side to shout FUD towards us. Understand?

My buddy the fence sitter from another post is going to buy Planet Earth. I told him to make sure to get the british narrated version as was recommended here on this site. The margin is so close, I'm sure it won't be long now. Unless of coarse Toshiba puts more retractible cup holders in a few more cereal boxes.

Or there is a fire sale by a major studio... Then, I think I would be able to forgive them for that one.

And yeah, I enjoyed the Bristish version better...I bought the one with S. Weaver and it just didn't live up to my expectations. It went to a friend shortly afterward.

I saw the sigourney version on TV. Kept waiting for her to say "Get away from her you *****!" Didn't work for me.
