At least not for those of us who grew up watching it on Commander USA's Groovy Movies. The english dub is half the fun! Personally, I don't care what the audio quality is, just as long as it plays fine and I can hear them speaking english poorly. I just wish it would have the US opening title sequence with that groovy intro music: Last edited by Monroville; 07-04-2017 at 04:26 AM. |

I'm interested in reading perceptions of the blu-ray too, a North American release would be handier, but I'd probably go for an import at a reasonable price.
I recently stumbled across the movie on Amazon Video (viewable with Prime); I've only been able to watch several minutes not only did the picture seem better than the DVD (I think it was in HD) but the sound (English dub) also seemed much improved. |

To be fair, there really isn't much that IVL could do with this release. Yes, they gave us their typical blu-ray offering but it is a major let-down following the amazing 2015 German blu-ray release. Perhaps this is one of the reasons Celestial are clamping down on the German releases regarding having English subtitles.
![]() Nice slipcover. Though this is one of their older HD transfers, it still holds up. At least Celestial are maximizing their remastering financial investment. ![]() I honestly don't think that there is a reason to post screenshots of this release as the PQ is pretty damn good; just the same old master they used (at least) since the initial iTunes release back in 2013/14, I think it was. If anyone has a better memory of when it first appeared, please correct me. Anyhow, I have reviewed every release so far to some extent and have probably posted shots elsewhere. And, there really is nothing new pertaining to this release other than, perhaps, a couple of the photos used in the photo gallery. But, I can't attest to that 100% because I don't have all my releases right in front of me at the moment. I can only recommend this release for those that don't already own the German release or really need an English dub. |

Cool. That's the main thing: if the picture quality is excellent and the english audio is decent (fairly clear with not a lot of hiss), then I can always put it into my DVD case (which has a nice slipcover) or find/create custom cover art.
I'm assuming that it also has the Hong Kong credit sequence, as opposed to the cool and funky US credit sequence? |
