This was actually surprisingly good. I'm not a huge Martin Freeman fan but, to be fair, he's very good in this.
Despite being a zombie film, the Australian Outback setting and the specifics of this particular virus - which causes victims to secrete a sticky substance and bury their heads in the grounds - keeps the whole thing consistently intriguing: The Walkabout Dead, if you like. The emotional through-line is particularly strong; humane, inventive and occasionally quite moving. Don't let the straight-to-Netflix put you off: CARGO is a minor classic of the genre and one of my favourite films this year. |

Hope this isn't a case of Light's Out, which I thought worked great as a short film but became horrendously one-note as a feature. |

Thought it was just... okay.
Wasn't scary at all. The ending was... weird and too convenient for the plot, leaves too much holes on how the zombies in this film behaved. Zombie movies on Netflix I'd recommend: - Train to Busan - Ravenous |

Watched it as far as I could.
Characters behaved way too stupid even for a standard ("stupid") zombie movie, which the movie itself did not wanna be, so.... the movie killed itself with it imo. Besides that it was pretty lame and boring as far as I watched it. |

Really enjoyed this film. Other than it being pretty slow at times, I just wish there would've been a little more action, more interaction with zombies (kills, near-death escapes, etc.) and a little more suspense. Overall, though, I liked it. I'd pick it up if they released it on DVD or Blu-ray eventually. The original short is pretty good, too.

'Good' for sure. Not sure about 'great'. Although that certain scene at the end really got to me and pushed me to give a 3.5 rating instead of 3. (rounded up to 3 for the poll, unfortunately) Somehow it felt fresh because of the setting and lack of scenes that are a cliché for the genre. As for Martin Freeman. He's fine, as expected. But while some label this as his best performance, this doesn't come near to what he did in -for example- the Fargo series, imo.

Not every movie where people eat human flesh can be filed under the zombie genre. |

Watched this over the weekend and found it to be pretty solid.
Sure it has some cliche stuff and it's not scary but it does have heart. I recommend checking it out. I think it could also be a good gateway film for people that aren't generally into horror. |
