Studio 8 is reteaming with Albert Hughes to tackle a remake of the acclaimed Spanish thriller, The Fury of a Patient Man.
Hughes, the director of Studio 8’s upcoming prehistoric epic Alpha, will helm the remake, with Javier Gullon, who wrote Denis Villeneuve’s Enemy, penning the script.
The movie centers around a quiet man who seeks revenge on the criminals who turned his life upside down after a violent robbery. The man enlists the help of a recently released convict who was part of the crime.
The movie was released in Spain in 2016 and won several Goya Awards, Spain’s version of the Oscar, including best film, best new director, best supporting actor and best original screenplay.
The plan is to make this Hughes’ next movie with a spring 2018 start.
