"Can-Can" will most likely come from Twilight Time and was included in the Fox poll
No Doubt WB Will release "Porgy and Bess" since they got the rights throught the Goldwyn deal - but the film needs rmajor estoration work to be released on Blu-ray - could take a while. "OKlahoma" was announced years ago and then pulled McKenna's Gold (1969) was released in 35mm though parts were filmed in 70mm (Twilight Time will most likly released this too) "Exodus" & "Doctor Dolittle" are available overseas Last edited by Musicguy; 03-13-2013 at 09:10 PM. |

well The Alamo needs to be restored, and all work was halted years ago due to the MGM bankruptcy according to RAH. If it gets released anytime in the next year or so it will simply be a cash grab.
The Agony..... on the other hand, is probably done now, and I could see a TT release for that one. Fox mentioned it long ago. ![]() |

I know, I want it bad too. For 35mm, it's one of those movies that I think tends to pop so much with sharpness and color that it looks like it was shot on something better. The DVD looks remarkable, so I imagine the Blu-ray will please for sure when it comes out.

Yes where is Bondarchuk's War and Peace (6 hrs.+)! Does RusCiCo even do Blu-rays? I did Netflix this a couple years ago and got the anamorphic version
and can tell you it needs restoration. With 5 discs and Netflix sending one every other day it took a week and a half to watch the whole movie. |

There may be others, but my only disappointment in 70mm films that are already released on Blu-ray was the first Patton. Thankfully they fixed it and the re-issue looks fine. Lawrence of Arabia and The Sound of Music look about as perfect as one could expect. Perhaps there will be more 70mm films announced soon.
