PS4 Pro Gameplay Recording

Hey guys,

Don't know if this is common knowledge but I can't seem to find a straight answer but, is the PS4/PS4 Pro capable of recording gameplay on an external HDD?

I am currently able to do this with the XB1X, transfer to my PC to then edit.

With the PS4 normal version you can record game play in 15 minute segments and then copy them to a usb drive\external hd. I have done it a few times with my portable 2TB drive and various usb drives. But I don't think you can record directly to one. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Bodyslide. I was able to test this out using an older external HDD that has a power cord. After formatting it to exfat, I was able to copy the game clips over and then transfer it to my PC.
